Wildlife Protection Service

OBJECTIVE

National Park - Camp Set Up

A wildlife protection service wants to set up in a national park, the local authorities allocated some land, and they built a small camp.

SOLUTION

Cusp implemented remote power with generators and back sustainable systems including solar and wind, the camp with a VSAT system that allows them to have internet access, and set up a LAN (Local Area Network), so all the buildings on camp have connectivity and communications. We built an access control system with entry cards to allow only dedicated staff to enter with provisional timed cards so trusted local staff could come in during working hours.

We also provided a local trunked radio system, including handheld radios and a transmission tower) so anti-poaching field staff and camp staff could communicate while on patrol which is extended to vehicles.
We added a tracking system to all vehicles and personnel so they could be monitored on anti-poaching missions providing accurate positions so help can be sent immediately when needed. We provided office services including a phone system that also goes to other offices including their international HQ and local buildings, and the trunked Radio which was linked to the phone system so field officers could call their international HQ in another location, including overseas, while out in the field.

There have been some poachers trying to break into the camp, so we provided a CCTV system as well. We add a tracking system to all vehicles and personnel so they can be monitored on anti-poaching missions providing accurate positions so help can be sent immediately when needed and secure Cyber systems so the camp network cannot be hacked, and cyber security training for the staff. We also implemented a sandbox to allow individual’s local smartphones to operate on a private and a public system simultaneously, so work systems are not cross contaminated from the company systems, and staff welfare services so phones can access the system and use WhatsApp, Skype, Facebook and Messenger as well as CATV within the rooms.
